Hi, guys! Are you an Indie author who's thought about diving into the illustrative side of the business to save money but don't know where to begin? Or maybe instead you like art but want to go digital and don't know where to start or how to improve your techniques?
This is the first of my art help videos, which explores a free art app and some techniques I use. I'm excited to share some basics that apply to multiple programs in the digital art world! This video covers aspects of color harmony, hue, saturation, environmental and atmospheric affects on the overall balance of a piece's colors, bounce light, and source light. I go over my process in order and give tips on how to compose your art to make it tell as good a story as your books do, as well as how to really grab attention with the minutest detail.
The video's YouTube description has time stamps and a quick run-down of what is discussed and where for later reference if you decide you need to brush up on something.
You'll be able to find more tips on my Indies Support Page in my communities page here on my website, and more writerly tips on my writer blog at 7bloodfire.blogspot.com.
